The artifact that I chose for this reflection and alignment is the podcast, which aligns with the common core standard 11. This artifact is a podcast that we began creating that focuses on sharing ideas, perspectives, and information in an engaging and accessible format.The purpose of this assignment was to communicate educational concepts in a different way than traditional assignments, allowing for more creativity and expression. This can be useful in a classroom setting because podcasts can be used as a teaching tool for students to demonstrate understanding, share ideas and engage with content in a more interactive way. It also allows students to practice communication skills and think more deeply about how they present information to others.

This assignment expanded my knowledge and pedagogy by showing me that there are different ways to incorporate technology and creativity into teaching. Before this I did not think as much about using something like a podcast as an instructional strategy but now I see how effective it can be for engaging students and supporting different learning styles. It also showed me the importance of giving students opportunities to express their learning in different formats not just through writing. In my future practice as an educator I can use podcasts as a way to differentiate their understanding. This will help create a more inclusive and engaging learning environment while also building important communication and critical thinking skills.
